 Come and See Weekend
(15th-17th September in Nympsfield)

By the month of July we had three applications forms but in the beginning of September we had two cancellations.

Although having just one person we carried on with the activities and program already organized.

We began with an "ice-breaker" using the initial of our names with an open and friendly sharing.

A nice evening prayer centred on the scripture reading:  John 1, 35-39 with the invitation of Jesus saying "Come and See". We also shared our expectations which were written on footprints, ready to begin our journey for the weekend.

The following day we begin with the central theme: "My journey with YOU". We starting looking at pictures and quotations about journey and followed a dynamic about the "Camino de Santiago" with yellow arrows in different parts of the house and with the invitation to stop, reflect and then continue walking and searching. After this as a sharing we drew our spiritual journey with bright colours and specific symbols for each one of us.

We had a time of sharing about our journey of being called to be Marist and what this word means for us. We also shared some pictures of our Sisters around the world and our Marist mission in the different Units.

We were invited to start a journey through different quotations of Jeanne Marie Chavoin and we finished our weekend in a very joyful and gentle way with a liturgical dance called: "Spirit of the wind, carry me,...".

A time of adoration, plenty of singing together, sincere and fruitful sharing, some drawing, joyful dancing ,....all of this helped us to confirm our vocation to be called to live the Marist charism and the opportunity to share this beauty with the participant leading her to look for God's will in her life.

Our participant is from Nairobi (Kenya), 22 years old and she studies civil engineering in Manchester University. She seems to be a very prayerful woman and, according to her sharing, says that the experience of this weekend has helped her to confirm how much God loves her and to realise that holiness is not just to kneel and pray instead it is something else. She is now in our prayers as she discerns God's call in her life.

A big thank you to everyone who made possible the experience of this weekend.

On behalf of the Vocation Team (Beate, Carmel, Annie and Silvia )
