On 2nd January 1817, Marcellin Champagnat sat down at table with two boys who responded to his invitation to form a community who would live in the manner of Mary and whose special task it was to educate children and young people.

200 years later Marists the world over give thanks for Marcellin's vision and commitment, for his courage and faith, for his love of the Gospel and of Mary, his Good Mother. May God bless our Marist Brothers with all the graces they need to further the mission with which they have been entrusted.
