Sr Sylvette Visits “Down Under”
The Sisters in Australia were very pleased to welcome Sr Sylvette Mané, Congregational Leader on her first visit to Australia; where she spent time with Sisters in each of the communities and gathered with them as a Unit on two occasions.

One such occasion was a gathering with Emerging Futures Co-op Ltd., who the Unit has engaged to journey with it giving assistance to living positively the transition of these times and to help ensure the provision of necessary services.

Sr Sylvette had opportunities to learn of some current ministries, and to visit some, for example a social housing outreach, and pastoral activities at St Patrick’s city parish.

There were opportunities to visit former ministries at Cerdon College Merrylands and Marist Sisters’ College Woolwich, where she was glad to experience our Marist spirit alive in teachers and students.

She also added to our Marist presence at the annual Archdiocesan Mass celebrating religious life. At the dinner afterwards she was warmly welcomed by the Archbishop and all present.
Some fun time included a meeting with some native animals, including feeding a wallaby with a Joey in its pouch.

We are very grateful for Sr Sylvette’s time with us, the blessings that came with her presence, and the particularly strong awareness of our connection with all our Sisters in the Congregation she brought.
