Mary at the Heart of Dreams …
On 23 July 1816, at the shrine of Notre-Dame de Fourvière in Lyon, 12 newly ordained priests committed themselves to founding a congregation bearing the name of Mary, the Society of Mary.
They put into practice the idea of the Society of Mary, clearly expressed by Jean-Claude Courveille who had received the inspiration in the cathedral of Le Puy in France.
They offer themselves to endure all the trials that may result. They declare their fidelity to Jesus Christ and solemnly commit themselves to the salvation of souls.
