A Fijian Welcome for Sr Mari Aranda
The Sisters in Fiji warmly welcome Sr Mari Aranda (a member of our General Administration Team) to Fiji recently. Sr Mari Aranda was given a traditional welcome to Fiji. The welcoming ceremony is integral part of the Fijian cultural identity and heritage. The traditional kava ceremony is observed in a solemn environment, as a sign of dignity and respect
While it was Sr Mari’s first time in Fiji, she had previously met some of the Sisters at Congregational meetings in Rome or Africa. During the welcome ceremony the Sisters asked Sr Mari Aranda to share some of her Mexican culture with them. She was delighted to share with them the story of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
