The four Marist General Councils (Marist Sisters, SM; Marist Missionary Sis­ters, SMSM; Marist Fathers, SM; and Marist Brothers, FMS) met once again in the Marist Brothers’ house in Manziana from January 22 to 24. Our facilitator  Sister Teri O’Brien led us in a reflection on the Church with a Marian Face. Her presentation was lively and very interesting including content on the origin of  all four branches. We were 20 participants and the discussion in groups and in plenary sessions was very enlightening and participative.

The four Superiors General presented different aspects of events over the past year and there was time given to questioning and reflection. We also had time for prayer together and our Eucharistic celebrations drew us back to our Founders’ love of the Eucharist as the centre of Marist living.

Our less formal time together had a distinct tone about it with a birthday boy and a birthday girl celebrating.

Miriam is also celebrating!

As this is the last year that we Marist Sisters will be present as a team we were thanked and gifted by the other three groups and we in turn returned our gratitude for the happy times spent together.
