On 8th December 2021, a Mass was organized to mark the beginning of the mandate of the new Unit Team  in West Africa.  In Dakar the two communities gathered for a beautiful celebration.

At the beginning of the Mass Sr Innocence, who had completed her mandate as Unit Leader, asked Sr Josephine to read her message to the Sisters of the Unit.  From this message we can draw the following: « I understand the Unit Leader is not the one who knows everything or who must teach others everything, she is rather the one who offers the opportunity to develop and to express the best in each sister.»

In his homily Fr Steve S.M. stated « Authority in the Church is for service.  We are instruments of divine mercy.  Our first service is to the community.  We don’t choose the Sisters with whom we live but we do collaborate and cooperate with them ».

Sr Innocence handed a lighted candle to the new leader Sr Amédée and wished her a fruitful mission in keeping the flame alight for the well-being of the Unit of West Africa.
