In the days leading to Fourvière we invited our followers on Facebook to reflect on the promise made by the young men at Fourvière on 23 July 1816.
PRAYER in preparation for the celebration of the PROMISE OF FOURVIÈRE.
This prayer written by a Marist Sister, can be used this week as we prepare to celebrate on the 23rd a special Marist feast day.
A series of posts will be shared about the content of the promise. Follow us throughout the coming days and join us in prayer and thanksgiving as we commit ourselves to renew the "strength of a promise" which continues to inspire us strongly today.

23rd JULY -THE PROMISE OF FOURVIÈRE
It is with great joy, and grateful hearts that we celebrate and remember the promise of our origins. It is incredible the strength of this promise still very alive in the hearts of the Marists of today. We recognize that we have been chosen to continue to portray the Marian face of the Church in the world of today. We want to be bearers of Mercy, life and hope to all who are waiting to meet brothers and sisters on their journey of life. May the first Marists and Our Lady of Fourvière intercede for us!. To all Marists in all branches of the Marist Family, we wish you a happy feast day!
OUR FOURVIÈRE IS NOW; Dare to Dream
OUR FOURVIÈRE IS NOW!
DARE TO DREAM, composed for the International Marist youth gathering in 2016 celebrating 200 years of the Promise of Fourvière. Grateful for the legacy of the first Marists and still motivated by their inspiration.... we sing today: "Let your heart's desire reach high, living the joy of the Gospel, sharing your Marist light".
