A Bishop thanks our Marist Sisters in Canada

On Thanksgiving Day, Mgr Gérard Dionne (100 years old last June!) the senior bishop of Canada and third in the Catholic Church, drove himself from St Basil to Edmundston ( 15 km.) to celebrate with us Marist Sisters.

We enjoyed a most happy moment together, remembering our younger days in Mount St Mary's of the fifties. Mgr was then our Chaplain and we were either in the Novitiate or tending to the children of the Orphanage. His phenomenal memory could recollect and name many of us Marists at the beginning of our Canadian Foundation, like Mother Jeanne d'Arc, Mother Dominic, Sr. Helen, Mary Spillane.

Bishop's insistence to meet us was to express his gratitude for what he called the happiest time of his priestly life.

We rejoice and bless the Lord for the encounter and especially for Mgr's fruitful life of service in the Church and dedicated companionship with the Marist Sisters.
