Marist Sisters Australia honoured for their 110 years of service at Woolwich
A few days ago Marist Sisters' College Woolwich hosted a special ritual of thanksgiving to farewell the Sisters and honour their service to the College since 1908. Beginning with the Eucharist, reflections were shared by Fr Tony Corcoran - Provincial of the Marist Fathers in Australia, Sr Cath Lacey - Leader of the Australian Marist Sisters, Dr Dan White - Executive Director of Sydney Catholic Schools, Dr Anne Ireland - current principal of the College and two students. 22 of our Sisters were there, and a good number of Marist Fathers, several concelebrating. Among the many participants were three former principals - Sisters Elizabeth McTaggart and Fidelis McTeigue and the first lay principal, Christina Trimble. A commemorative plaque was unveiled prior to afternoon tea.
As God has blessed the past 110 years, may God bless the on-going life of Marist Sisters College!
With Mary, we sing: Magnificat!
