"In our vision of community and Congregation there are no borders"
This sense of being ONE, of being CONNECTED, was one of the strongest outcomes of our recent gathering for Marist Sisters under 60 years of age in Senegal. Yes, they are aware of our diversity, but they believe that this, rather than dividing or diminishing us, enriches and enhances the Whole to which they are proud to belong.
On their return home to Australia, Judith and Kate gave witness to this when they visited Marian House, where there are a number of Sisters who have lived longer than 60 years. These Sisters are vitally interested in everything that is happening across the Congregation and they followed keenly the January newsheets from Senegal. So, one can imagine their delight to receive a first-hand account from two of the participants.
For Kate and Judith it was also a great way to re-live their wonderful experience. They shared their photos (computer connected to TV) and talked through highlights from the African gathering. They were thrilled to discover that the Marian House community has used the Vision Statement for prayer.
Yes, there is no doubt that - young, old and in-between - we need each other!
