Marist Sisters Against Trafficking in Humans
It is some years since ACRATH, Australian Catholic Religious Against Trafficking in Humans, was established and more recently a partner group known as ANZRATH has been formed in New Zealand. Our Sisters are strong supporters of both groups.
Last week at the National ACRATH conference in Sydney we were well represented by Noelene Simmons from Australia and Margaret Vaney from Wellington in New Zealand.
The conference opened with the launch of the Australian Catholic Social Justice Council’s (ACSJC) publication Human Trafficking and Slavery which Noelene co-authored with Christine Carolan, another ACRATH member. As an overseas participant, Margaret was interviewed.
Later Noelene was elected national president! Blessings upon her continuing ministry in a new role!
