Preparing for the Bicentenary of the founding moment of the Marist Sisters

In October 1817, our two founding women set out from Coutouvre, their home village, and all that was familiar to them, to go into the unknown - to the village of Cerdon. The reason for their courageous act was their intention to begin the Society of the Blessed Virgin.

One of the ways we wish to prepare for this event in October of this year is to spend time remembering... reflecting...giving thanks for the 'gracious choice' by which each of us belongs to Mary's little congregation. Each month there will be a page to prompt our pondering as we recall not only the commitment of Jeanne-Marie Chavoin and her companion, Marie Jotillon, but our own commitment as well and that of Mary, our first and perpetual superior.
