Ann Tipper, loyal supporter of our Marist mission, writes:
Manchester’s link with a very special school in Farafenni, the Gambia, continues to grow in strength, with new schools pledging their support and friendship. Pictured are some of the pupils of St Vincent’s, Altrincham, and their Deputy Head, Mr Blain. Along with St Bernard’s Parish, Burnage, they have been collecting laptops, printers, inks, a CD player and other resources – all destined for St John the Baptist School. The goods will be picked up from Manchester on January 9th, but will not arrive in Africa until 28th February.
In Laudato Si article 230 Pope Francis writes “St Therese of Lisieux invites us to practice the little way of love, not to miss out on a kind word, a smile or any small gesture which sows peace and friendship. An integral ecology is made up of simple daily gestures which break with the logic of violence, exploitation and selfishness.”
Thank you, St Vincent’s and St Bernard’s for your gesture of support. The Marist Sisters are very grateful!
