THE CURIOSITY CLUB

New thresholds crossed in our Community of Lyon: accustomed to rendering service, the Sisters are now learning to ask for services from our neighbours, for example, accompaniment to doctors.  In the past, vocation ministry led us to invite young people to present Marist religious life to them.

Today, it is the people who come to us.  A group of young women, from  "The Curiosity Club", whose aim is to meet ;  to get to know each other and to exchange ideas with each other and also to discover women who are "inspiring" by their life or by a project.

This is how Sr Marie-Thérèse was contacted and invited to give her testimony as a Marist sister. In order to welcome them into our community, the sisters had to limit the number to 25 women.

A member of « The Curiosity Club » wrote of her visit.

 "It was with great hospitality that Sister Marie-Thérèse received us in her community. She told us without taboo about her choice of life, her absolute commitment to religion, her vow of obedience and she has never regretted this choice. We were struck by her serenity, her incredible optimism and her joy of living... She has been happy wherever her paths have led her...with the young, with the elderly...

Bloom where you are sown, such is her motto, full of common sense and acceptance and we will keep it in mind for a long time.

Sr Marie Therese reflects that it emerged from this very friendly and warm evening that these women had remained with the traditional image of the nun.  Their curiosity seemed to have been satisfied after she had answered their many questions.
