10/10/2022 - Ireland
Bless this house, O Lord we pray …
For very many months now, we, the Sisters in Carrick, eagerly awaited the dawning of this day the 12 September 2022 with great
joy and expectation. And now it had arrived, as the words of Virgil from our old Leaving Certificate class became alive within us:
“The promised day has therefore come and the Fates have filled up the destined periods of Time …”
It was as if we were setting out once more and venturing together to cross, yet another threshold into our New, more central, Marist Home here in Ireland.
Oh, the Sun shone out brightly to greet us and excitement ran high as Marist Sisters from Carrick, Tubbercurry and Charlestown, Fr Seamus, Maire, Melissa and Rita were warmly welcomed as we congregated for Mass at 3.30 pm within the walls of our new house.
Everything was in readiness and this glowing atmosphere enabled us “to fit in” around the Eucharistic Table of the Lord.
We welcomed, with great joy in our hearts the presence of Sister Antoinette all the way from West Africa. Surely Antoinette’s presence united us with all of you, our Sisters around
the world, together with Mary, our Model and Guide on this her feastday. May she point us to her Son Jesus to help us to do her work today.
