A Farewell to Marist School, Sunninghill

In late May the Marist Sisters gathered to say farewell to Marist School, Sunninghill. 

It’s always a grief when we have to part with good things, especially people or significant places which have touched our lives. But when we begin to see all as gift in that ‘now moment’ of the past, which we enjoyed so much then and thank God for - it eases the pain. Even as Religious Women, we feel the pangs of grief and sadness. But the Lord knows us from deep within and reminds us that dying brings new birth. He says to us “Behold, I make all things new. Can you not see it now? I am doing a new thing. ” Let us rejoice because we have made space for something new to develop and grow. Alleluia, Alleluia.

After the Mass Sisters enjoyed a meal and shared memories. They were grateful that their dear friends Comboni Fathers John and Julio were able to celebrate a final Eucharist with us – what a blessing...

And of course, we are leaving all under the banner of Mary Our Dear Mother who says, “Do whatever he tells you”.
