St Joseph our Congregational and our Papal Patron of the year, has certainly watched over us and our Congregation during the year’s Lockdown. This was particularly noticeable in Hythe. When Covid-19 curtailed the Marist Sisters exercise allowance, St. Joseph smiled down on them as they walked their path around Villa Maria Grounds – weather permitting. They stood lovingly before the statue of St. Joseph to say a little prayer for his protection on them and to give him thanks, at the beginning or end of their journey. Many of us have taken on Pope Francis’s custom of popping our problems and petitions under his mattress for the night!
Thanks to some caring hands and green fingers St Joseph has now in this Summer season some beautiful and colourful flowers to behold. Like the Sisters, Staff and Residents of Villa Maria ‘all blooming where they are planted’. We give you thanks O Lord!
