On 15 November 1845, the Arche d’Alliance (Ark of the Covenant) sailed from Le Havre with Marie Françoise Perroton on board along with thirteen priests and Marist brothers. They arrived on Wallis Island on the 23 October 1846 – eleven months after leaving France.
On Sunday 23 October 2021, the Missionary Sisters of the Society of Mary celebrated the 175th anniversary of the departure of Marie Françoise Perroton to Oceania. Members of the Marist family gathered at Our Lady of Cape Verde, Pikine, Senegal for a Mass of thanksgiving. A number of our sisters were able to attend this event.
