On September 12, 2021, members of the Marist Family responded to Fr. Roger Lordong's invitation to celebrate the Holy Name of Mary with the Marist Fathers in Sainte Foy.. This is the first time in two years they had been able to come together, due to the Covid.
Sr Teri O’Brien writes: “What a joy to meet again and share a good meal together. We listened with interest to the news of each branch of the Marist Family, the signs of life: perpetual professions, new novices, a hundred lay participants in the Relais Mariste, the Marist camino, meetings on Zoom, changes of administration, and the Chapters in preparation.”
The sharing of the experience of covid in the communities underlines the difficulty of experiencing the loss of members, the impossibility of meeting at the international level, of establishing novitiates in certain countries, etc. We see the need to remain cautious because this pandemic has serious consequences on all levels, even financial.
We brought our Society of Mary, all our joys, our worries, our projects, our plans for the future, to the celebration of the Eucharist in the great chapel.
Sr Marie-Thérèse Terra is pictured here with Fr Paul Fontanier (102 years old) who is the brother of Sr Marie Fontanier.
