Marist Sisters in Difficult Times: Part 3 - New Zealand

In Auckland our Sisters are contributing to the local community
as well as keeping themselves healthy in body and in spirit.

Because the Sisters cannot go out to their varioius ministries, one community is saving about $100 a week on fuel - that money is donated to one of the local charities.

Furthermore, you may be able to see someone at the window of their home. It is none other than Farmer Bear! He is dressed in the typical clothing of a New Zealand dairy farmer - hat, black singlet, shorts and gumboots! This is the Sisters' way of participating in a local initiative to put teddy bears in the window so that children walking with their parents can count the bears...

Then there is exercise: some do it as a group from a sitting position; others, alone follow the Tai Chi programme.
